ADDING IPAD WALLPAPERS - PC

Step 1 - Create a Wallpapers Folder

Before downloading any iPad wallpapers you will need to create a folder on your PC to store all of your iPad images. If you have already done this then create a sub-folder called 'Wallpapers' to store your wallpaper images and go to Step 2.

If you do not have an iPad images folder then create one in your 'My Pictures' folder using Windows Explorer. On your PC Click Start -> My Pictures.

This will open Windows Explorer in the 'My Pictures' folder. You may already have folders and images in this folder, however it is recommended that you create a separate folder for your iPad images.

Using Windows Explorer to creat a folder in My Pictures

Within Windows Explorer Click File -> New -> Folder. A new folder will be created so name it 'iPad Images'. This is the folder that all of your iPad pictures will be stored in (For more information visit Managing Photos and Videos).

Double Click the 'iPad Images' folder to open it. Within Windows Explorer Click File -> New -> Folder. A new folder will be created so name it 'Wallpapers'.

The 'Wallpapers' sub-folder will be used to store all of the downloaded wallpapers.

Step 2 - Download Wallpapers To Your PC

The iPad is designed to view wallpapers that are 1024 pixels wide by 1024 pixels tall. All iPad wallpapers on www.my-iGuru.com are specifically optimised for the iPad.

Using Internet Explorer go to www.my-iGuru.com and navigate to a wallpaper in the iPad wallpapers section that you would like to download. Right-click with your mouse on the large wallpaper image and select 'Save Picture As...'. Navigate to your 'Wallpapers' folder. If you followed Step 1 this will be located in the folder at My Pictures -> iPad Images -> Wallpapers. Once in the correct folder click 'Save'.

The wallpaper is now saved on your computer. You can download as many wallpapers as you like following the same procedure in Step 2.

Step 3 - Uploading The Wallpapers To Your iPad

Open iTunes and plug your iPad so that it synchronises. Once synced click iPad in the left hand menu under Devices and a new screen will fill the right pane with a number of tabs at the top. Click the 'Photos' tab.

iTunes screen showing Photo tab settingsEnsure that 'Sync photos from:' is selected and in the box on the right select 'Choose Folder...'. Navigate to 'My Pictures' then 'iPad Images' folder and click 'OK'. As this is going to be the location of all of your iPad photos, select the 'All Photos' option. The Wallpapers folder created will show and in brackets will be the number of images in the folder.

Click 'Apply' in the bottom right to sync and copy all the folders and images located in the 'iPad Images' folder to your iPad.

Step 4 - Setting A Wallpaper Image on Your iPad

From the Home screen select 'Photos' and you should now see a folder called 'Wallpapers'. Open the folder and the wallpapers you have downloaded will be shown.

iPad Wallpaper Settings

Select an image to use as a wallpaper and press the Option Buttonoption button (You may need to tap the image for menu bar to display). A menu will appear with 4 options including 'Use as Wallpaper'. Select this option and another menu is presented. You can now move and scale the image using finger gestures. When you are happy select to save the wallpaper as either your 'Lock Screen', 'Home Screen' or 'Set Both' Lock and Home screens'.

As all of the my-iGuru.com images are optimised for the iPad there is no need to move or scale the image.
